The CIO's primary duties include creating business value through technology, ensuring tech systems are in line with business goals, managing the IT and development team and developing and approving technology budgets. Responsible for managing the financial actions of a company. The CFO's primary duties include overseeing the company's fiscal activity, including budgeting, reporting and auditing as well as reviewing financial reports to identify ways to reduce costs. The CFO is also responsible for tracking cash flow and financial planning as well as analyzing the financial strengths and weaknesses of the organization and proposing any corrective actions.
